Menheniot, Cornwall born inside left Jim Congdon began his football career with Plymouth based Millbrook Rangers in 1920 before joining Third Division (South) Exeter City in 1921, making his Football League debut in a 1-0 victory at Southend United in October 1921. After just one season at St James’ Park, when he made 8 appearances for The Grecians, he signed for Accrington Stanley in the summer of 1922, where he again had just the one season making a further five League appearances, before returning to Devon, signing for Southern League Torquay United in March 1923.
