Swansea born outside left Harry Thomas began his career with hometown Southern League club Swansea Town, joining Porth in 1920. In April 1922 he was sold to First Division Manchester United, where he made his Football League debut against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on 22nd April, but he couldn’t help save them from relegation. After a spell in the first eleven at the start of the new season, he lost his place in October and only re-gained his place, other than occasional appearances as a fringe player, in September 1925. Later that season he was a member of United’s FA Cup semi final team that lost 3-0 to Manchester City at Bramall Lane.
He won one cap for Wales, playing against England in a 3-3 draw at The Racecourse Ground, Wrexham in February 1927. He continued to feature in the United first team until April 1930, and after 13 goals in 135 appearances he joined Irish League club Waterford in the summer of 1930.
He returned to Wales in 1931 joining non league Merthyr Town, before playing out his career joining Abercarn in 1932 and Aberavon Harlequins in 1933.
