Northallerton, Yorkshire born inside left Bob Walker began his senior football career with Scottish League club Heart of Midlothian in 1905, but didn’t make their first eleven before signing for First Division club Middlesbrough in 1905, making his Football League debut at Derby County in January 1906. He scored 3 goals in 14 appearances for ‘Boro but at the end of the season he left Ayresome Park to join Southern League club Tottenham Hotspur, and he would spend the rest of his career with Southern League clubs.
At Spurs he scored 3 times in 25 appearances in their final Southern League campaign before joining New Brompton (now Gillingham) in 1907, making 8 appearances before moving to Northampton Town a year later. He helped Northampton to win the Southern League Championship in 1908-09, and had two seasons at The County Ground before joining Millwall Athletic in 1910, for whom he played 16 matches. He moved to Luton Town in 1911, scoring 8 goals in 28 matches before finishing his career at Bristol Rovers, whom he joined in 1912. He had three seasons with The Gas, scoring 11 goals in 108 appearances before retiring in 1915 when peacetime football was suspended due to the onset of the First World War.
It is reported he subsequently moved to the Cleveland area in the United States and continued his footballing career in the Ohio League.
