Bow, London born goalkeeper George Carrington had the briefest of careers in professional football immediately after the First World War. He began his career before the War playing with Ford Sports, and after the War he joined Second Division Clapton Orient, where he was understudy to Jimmy Hugall, making his one and only appearance in League football in a 1-0 home defeat to Fulham in September 1919 in Orient’s second match after peacetime football resumed. Little is known of his career beyond leaving Millfields Road in 1920, other than that he had an unsuccessful trial with Millwall.
