Jarrow, County Durham born right half or centre half Jack Morrison played for Northern Alliance hometown club Jarrow from 1906 from where he was signed by Second Division club Hull City in March 1908, making his Football League debut at Bolton Wanderers the same September. Having made 3 appearances that month he played once more that season for The Tigers, immediately after the New Year in a win at Clapton Orient, and didn’t get back into the first eleven before joining Southern League club Swindon Town in 1910. A fringe player at The County Ground, he played 3 matches for The Robins during their 1910-11 Southern League Championship winning team and also appeared in 5 matches in the Southern League Cup competition that season.
In September 1911 he signed for Sunderland and spent two seasons in the reserves at Roker Park without making their first eleven, before returning to Jarrow, by now playing in the North Eastern League, in 1913. His career was then interrupted by the onset of the First World War, but towards the end of the War he joined South Shields in 1918 and played for North Eastern League club Durham City in 1919 after the War, his last recorded club before his eventual retirement.
