Description

Motherwell, Lanarkshire born right half Davie Colquhoun began his football career at Blantyre Victoria before joining St Mirren in April 1926. Having scored 4 goals in 142 appearances for The Buddies he was sold to Second Division club Tottenham Hotspur in August 1931, making his Football League debut at Wolverhampton Wanderers towards the end of the same month. He missed only 6 matches during his first season at White Hart Lane, and scored his only career goal in England the next season in a win at Preston North End in October 1932 as Tottenham gained promotion to the First Division, finishing 1932-33 as Second Division runners up.

However Colquhoun didn’t play a top flight match until December, when he had a run of 15 matches in the team before losing his place in February 1934 in a season when Spurs finished third in the League Championship. He was then limited to only 3 appearances in their 1934-35 relegation season, and transferred to Luton Town in March 1935 after 87 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur. At Luton, flying high in their division, he played a dozen matches on the run in to the season as they finished fourth in the Third Division (South), but only 5 more games before the turn of the year in 1935-36, and he joined Rochdale on a free transfer in the summer of 1936, where he ended his career without making their first eleven.
