Barbados born outside right Alf “Scotty” Kingsley began his football career with Vanbrugh Park in 1910 and played for Blackheath St John’s before the First World War, from where he joined Charlton Athletic who were originally playing in the Kent League. He spent a season with Charlton in the Southern League before they were elected to The Football League in 1921, Kingsley playing in their inaugural League match at Gillingham in August 1921.
After 2 goals in 20 appearances for The Addicks he was signed by Second Division club Fulham in January 1922 where he scored twice in 31 matches for The Cottagers over the following 18 months before a move back to South East London, joining Millwall in the 1923 close season. He missed only a few matches as Millwall finished third in the Third Division (South) in 1923-24 but lost his place in January 1925 and subsequently joined Kent League club Sittingbourne after two goals in 47 appearances for The Lions. He subsequently played for Sheppey United in 1931 and Hampstead in 1932 before his eventual retirement.
