Description

Neath, Glamorgan born outside right Idris Miles began his football career with Radnor Road in the late 1920’s from where he joined Second Division club Cardiff City in October 1930, making his Football League debut against Nottingham Forest the same month, one of three matches before the end of the season in which he featured that ended in Cardiff’s relegation. Miles joined Yeovil & Petters United in 1931, from where he was signed by First Division club Leicester City in 1932, where he scored on his top flight debut against Everton in October 1932 and played 7 matches for The Foxes before the year end before losing his place.

Miles joined Third Division (South) club Clapton Orient in March 1935 where he was a regular for two years, scoring 6 goals in 81 matches for The O’s before a move to Exeter City in the summer of 1937. Miles played 11 matches for The Grecians through to October 1937 but then lost his place, rejoining Yeovil & Petters United before the year end. He then joined Worcester City in 1938 before his football career was effectively ended by the outbreak of the Second World War a year later.
