Description

Elgin, Moray born half back (he played all across the line) Jimmy Millar began his football career with hometown club Elgin City from where he joined Scottish League club Glasgow Rangers in 1898, making his Scottish League debut against Dundee in December 1898, making 5 appearances that season but none the following season except in the Inter City League, before he joined Second Division club Middlesbrough in the summer of 1900, where he made his Football League debut against Lincoln City in their opening match of the season at the start of September. However he lost his place from the start of the next season and played just once more for ‘Boro at Nottingham Forest in November 1902 before a move to newly elected Second Division club Bradford City in the summer of 1903 after 20 matches for Middlesbrough.

Millar played in The Bantams’ inaugural League fixture at Grimsby Town in September 1903 and was a regular in their first four seasons in League football, although he lost his place in September 1907 having scored once, in a 2-2 draw with Lincoln City in December 1905, in 129 matches for Bradford City. Millar then joined Scottish League club Aberdeen in February 1909 and was a regular for two seasons, scoring twice in 84 matches for The Dons before retiring in 1912.
