Description
Wing half Angus McPhail joined Clyde as a teenager from local club Blantyre Victoria in 1931 and soon established himself in their first team. At the time this image was published, he was described as so: “McPhail has the rufous locks of the traditional Scot, and his other physical attributes are in keeping. A strong tackler, he can come back and go through with the play in the fashion of a class wing-half. He is still developing, but already has the flair for the unexpected long shot and searching cross-field pass, characteristics which should carry him far in the game”.
