Description

Walker, Newcastle born wing half Edward Peter Mooney, who went by his middle name Peter, began his football career with Walker Celtic in 1913 and joined Newcastle United Swifts in 1914. After the First World War he played 135 games for Newcastle United between January 1920, when he made his debut in an FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town, and 1927, scoring 4 goals, having signed for them from Newcastle Swifts in after the end of the War in 1919. He was in their FA Cup winning team of 1924 when United beat Aston Villa in the second Wembley FA Cup Final and played all 8 matches in their cup run. He transferred to Hull City in 1927, where he only played 11 games that autumn, and then went then into non league football with Midland League Scunthorpe & Lindsey United in 1928.
