Description

Bolton, Lancashire born centre forward George Guy had signed as an amateur for Bolton Wanderers in May 1914 from local Greater Manchester football without playing a first team game before the suspension of peacetime Football and after the First World War he played for Welsh League side Aberaman Athletic. Bolton then signed him again, this time as a professional, in June 1920 and he made his Football League debut at Manchester United that August, scoring in a 3-2 victory, keeping his place for Bolton’s next match at Chelsea, which proved to be his last for The Trotters.

He rejoined Aberaman Athletic in 1921, before returning to Greater Manchester with Rochdale in 1922, scoring on his debut and in his second game, both against Crewe Alexandra in August/September 1922, then bagging 4 goals against Wrexham the same month. However he only scored one more goal for ‘Dale and after a total of 15 appearances in 1922-23, he returned to Aberaman once again in 1923, before joining non league Chorley in 1924.
