Description
Blackburn born wing half Tommy Heaton joined his hometown club after World War One, making his Rovers debut against Aston Villa in April 1920. He soon established himself in the first team but lost his place in April 1922 playing only once more the following season before moving to Oldham Athletic in the summer of 1923 after a single goal in 59 appearances. He played his last game for Oldham on New Years’ Day 1927, scoring 3 times in 64 games over his 4 seasons at Boundary Park. He joined non league Manchester North End later that year.
