Description

Airdrie born wing half Bob Perry started his football career with King’s Park in 1911 before joining Second Division Bury in 1912, making his Football League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers that October. He played both sides of World War One for The Shakers, scoring 18 goals in 148 appearances always in The Second Division, but lost his place in 1922 and played his last match for them in February 1923 before joining the flood of professional footballers seeking to make a living in the nascent American Soccer League later that year. He played throughout the rest of the 1920’s with a variety of clubs including J & P Coats (Rhode Island), Fall River Marksmen and New Bedford Whalers, playing over 200 games in the American Leagues before retirement.
