Description

Bishop Auckland, County Durham born full back Jack Bellas signed for Sheffield Wednesday in 1920 from Shildon Athletic whom he had joined in 1919 after the end of the First World War, making his Football League debut against Leeds United in October 1920. He played 51 matches in the Second Division for Wednesday before joining Midland League club Mansfield Town in 1923 but returned to The Football League in January 1925 with Coventry City for whom he played 33 matches in somewhat over a year, leaving them to join Midland League club Heanor Town.

He spent 1926-27 with Heanor Town and played for Sutton Junction in 1927-28 before a season with Pleasley Colliery in 1928-29, his last known team being New Houghton Church for whom he played in 1929 before his eventual retirement.
