Description

Leicester born left half Steve Wright had played for Bohemians in Ireland prior to the First World War, but after the resumption of peacetime football he joined First Division club Bolton Wanderers in 1919, making his Football League debut against Chelsea in October 1920. His opportunities were limited to 10 first team appearances for The Trotters  over two seasons and he joined Third Division (South) club Norwich City in the close season of 1922, where he was a regular starter, scoring his only career goal against Exeter City in a 6-0 romp in November 1922, making 40 appearances for The Canaries during their 1922-23 campaign. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the 1923 close season, however he played only 4 matches at the start of the season for The Seagulls. It’s possible he was injured and forced to retire from the game, but Brighton is his last recorded club.
