Description
Lichfield born goalkeeper Joe Dorrington had spent 1899-1900 with Blackburn Rovers without making a first team appearance, before joining Second Division Blackpool in 1900, making his Football League debut at New Brighton Tower that September. In 1903 he joined Kettering after 82 appearances for The Seasiders over the previous three seasons, but returned to Bloomfield Road in 1904, making a further 5 appearances during the autumn of 1904 before joining non league Colne in 1905. He subsequently played for Oswaldtwistle Rovers in 1906.
