Description

Inside right James “Jimmy” Gibb played for Irish League amateur club Cliftonville during the 1930’s and won 7 Irish Amateur caps between February 1935 and February 1938, scoring 3 goals including two against England in a 5-1 victory at Cliftonville Gardens in February 1937, England’s heaviest ever defeat. He was on stand-by for Great Britain’s 1936 Berlin Olympic squad and won a single full Ireland cap when he scored the opening goal in a 3-2 win over Wales at Celtic Park Belfast in March 1936.
