Boston, Lincolnshire born centre half Charlie Wrack played junior football for Boston West End in 1922, Boston Town in 1923 and Cleethorpes Town in 1924 before joining Third Division (North) club Grimsby Town for whom he made his Football League debut against Walsall in August 1925. He made 12 appearances in his debut season as Grimsby won the Third Division (North) Championship and he became a regular in the team from 1927, missing only 4 games as Grimsby gained promotion to the First Division in 1929 after finishing as Second Division runners up.
However he only played 17 games over the next two seasons with Grimsby in the top flight and joined Hull City in the 1931 close season. His spell at Boothferry Park was brief and he made just 5 appearances for The Tigers before re-joining non league Boston Town in 1932, subsequently playing for Louth Town in 1933 before his eventual retirement.
NB in the image he is shown with Grimsby Town team mates Steve Coglin, Joe Robson and Billy Marshall.
