Description

Tranmere, Wirral born inside forward Harry Hancock played junior football for Melrose (in Cheshire) from 1892 and also played for Port Sunlight in 1903 after having trials with Tranmere Rovers. In 1904, already nearly 30, he joined Stockport County, and in 1905 he moved to Second Division club Blackpool, for whom he made his Football League debut against Burton United that September, scoring 9 goals in 31 appearances for The Seasiders during 1905-06.

In May 1906 he joined Oldham Athletic but had a season on the sidelines (either through injury or being unable to get into their first eleven), only making his Latics debut in September 1907, and he was again a regular scorer with 10 goals in 31 appearances. In May 1908 a move to First Division club Manchester City followed but he never appeared for their first eleven and he joined Second Division club West Bromwich Albion in February 1909, making his only 2 appearances for The Baggies the same month. He finally joined non league Brierley Hill Alliance in 1910, his last recorded club before his eventual retirement.
