Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire born centre forward Billy Keen joined Millwall after the First World War and made his Football League debut at Northampton Town in September 1920, scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory. His finest moment came in Millwall’s 1922 FA Cup run when he scored all four goals in a 4-0 third round win over Swansea Town at The Den, although they were beaten in the next round by eventual Cup winners Huddersfield Town. He scored 30 goals in 68 games for Millwall in their first three seasons in the Football League but made only 4 more appearances after losing his place in 1923, before joining Luton Town in 1924. He found it no easier at Kenilworth Road and made only 3 appearances for The Hatters in the late summer of 1924 before finishing his professional career.
NB in the photograph he stands on the right with Millwall goalkeeper Sidney Crawford.
