Bedworth, Warwickshire born left back Jack Randle began his football career with Bedworth Juniors in 1921 and Exhall Colliery in 1922 before joining Second Division Coventry City in the 1923 close season, making his Football League debut at Bradford City that August, making 40 appearances during his debut campaign at Highfield Road. In 1925-26 he was an ever present for Coventry, and such consistency saw him transferred to First Division Birmingham in November 1927 after 156 appearances for Coventry.
Initially he was a first team regular, missing only one game in 1928-29, but increasingly he was mainly used as cover for George Liddell, and played no part in Birmingham’s run to the 1931 FA Cup Final. He eventually left St Andrews for Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic in the summer of 1933 after scoring once in 116 appearances for The Blues, and he made 32 appearances during a single season stay at Dean Court before joining non league Guildford City in 1934. He subsequently moved on to Newdigate Colliery in 1935 before his playing retirement.
