Alexander Charles Image 2 Corinthians 1897

Description
Ipswich, Suffolk born Charles Alexander was an amateur footballer educated at Shrewsbury School, who went up to Trinity College, Cambridge University in 1894, where he won a “Blue” as part of the University’s football eleven and also played for Ipswich Town, with whom he won The Suffolk Senior Cup in 1896, and The Corinthians before entering the Indian Civil Service after his graduation from Cambridge in 1897.
On 2nd April 1898 he was an unused reserve for England in their victory over Scotland at Parkhead. Later that year he departed the United Kingdom to pursue his career in the Indian Civil Service.
His younger brother Cyril was also a Cambridge University football “Blue” in 1901.
