North Wingfield, Derbyshire born inside forward Fred Beedall joined Chesterfield from Ling’s Row Primitives in 1932 making his Football League debut at Swansea Town that September and playing 8 matches over two seasons before he signed for Torquay United. At Plainmoor he scored 21 goals in 132 matches for The Gulls before retiring from the professional game.
