Birrell Bob Image 2 Heart of Midlothian 1921

Description
Right back Bob Birrell made 125 appearances for Heart of Midlothian between August 1918 and April 1922, making his Scottish League debut for The Jambos against Glasgow Rangers in a 4-1 home defeat. He represented The Scottish League against The Irish League in a 3-0 Scottish victory at Shawfield in October 1921. He joined St Mirren in May 1922 but only made two appearances for The Buddies (retiring presumably through injury).
His brother, Billy Birrell, played for Raith Rovers and Middlesbrough, and also managed Bournemouth, Queen’s Park Rangers and Chelsea.
