Wrexham, Flintshire born full back Horace Blew played for Wrexham Old Boys in 1895 and Rhostyllen in 1896 before joining hometown professional Welsh League club Wrexham in 1897. He represented Wales on 22 occasions, making his Welsh international debut against Ireland atĀ Grosvenor Park, Belfast in March 1899, and was an automatic selection for the team between 1902 and 1909, missing only five games in that time, playing his final international in a 1-0 defeat to England at Cardiff Arms Park in March 1910.
In March 1906, he transferred to First Division Manchester United, but only played one game for them, making his Football League debut at Chelsea in April 1906 before returning to Wrexham, then moving to Manchester City that September, where he also played only once the same month against Bury. He once again re-joined Wrexham in 1907 and played for Wrexham Victoria and Brymbo Victoria before his retirement.
His son Frank Blew was also a full back who played for Wrexham in the 1920’s and represented Wales as an amateur international.
