Description

Lennoxtown, Dunbartonshire born goalkeeper Jock Britton joined Scottish League club Albion Rovers in 1920 from Duntocher Hibs, spending four years at Cliftonhill, making 90 appearances for The Wee Rovers. He also appears to have spent time (on loan?) at Alloa Athletic in 1922 before joining Dundee in 1924 for whom he played 78 matches over the following two seasons.

In 1926 he moved south to join Tottenham Hotspur making his Football League debut at West Ham United in March 1926 and he appeared 40 times for The Lilywhites over the next two years, but didn’t play again for the first team from his final Spurs appearance in November 1927 until he joined Irish League club Derry Celtic in 1930. He played in Ireland for a season and then returned to Scotland in 1931, playing for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, his final known club.
