Description

Guisborough born wing half Harry Brough began his football career with Kilnshurst in 1912 and joined Second Division Huddersfield Town in the 1913 close season, making his Town debut at Clapton Orient in November 1913, but after 2 goals (both on his home debut against Glossop) in 6 games during the 1913-14 season he signed for Midland League York City in 1914. However on the resumption of peacetime football after the First World War he was back with Huddersfield Town and although never a regular, he wasn’t selected for either their 1920 or 1922 FA Cup Final appearances, he managed another 54 appearances for The Terriers until December 1922 when he joined Manchester United.

However his stay at Old Trafford lasted less than two months, during which time he didn’t play for their first team, before he joined Stoke in February 1923 immediately returning to First Division action although in vain to save The Potters from relegation. He continued playing for Stoke until September 1925, making 84 appearances and scoring once, whereafter he retired.
