Muirkirk, Ayrshire born full back Craig Brown played for Lesmahagow in 1908 and Carluke Milton Rovers in 1909 before joining Scottish League Leith Athletic in 1910, moving on to St Bernard’s in 1911 and Armadale in 1912. He moved south to Bradford City in 1914 making his Football League debut against Sunderland in December 1914 scoring in a 3-1 victory.
He played twice more for The Bantams before World War One forced the suspension of peacetime football, after which he guested for Bathgate and Motherwell in 1916-17, scoring 5 goals in 33 matches fior The Steelmen, and Hibernian in 1917-18 where he played 6 matches before resuming with Bradford City in 1919, making another 6 appearances in the first post-war peacetime season before joining Motherwell. He played for Scottish Football League against The Football League in March 1922 and scored a further 5 goals in 148 matches for Motherwell before joining Cowdenbeath in 1924. He played 12 matches for Cowden, moving to Morton in 1925, where he played only twice. A three season spell at Peebles Rovers followed in 1926 and finally he joined Mid Annandale before retirement.
