Description
Southampton, Hampshire born outside left George Candy had a brief career in professional football, having started his career with Salisbury City. He was signed by Second Division Clapton Orient and made his Football League debut in a home defeat to Glossop in October 1908. He was recalled in February 1909 and played in a narrow defeat to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns, and on his final appearance for The O’s he played at left half in a goalless draw with Leeds City at Millfields Road in April 1909. He was not retained and his remaining football career is uncertain.
