Sheerness, Kent born centre half Albert Collins began his senior football career with Millwall, making his Football League debut at Brighton & Hove Albion in December 1923, his only appearance in his breakthrough season. Collins continued on the fringes of the first team for another five seasons at The Den, scoring twice in 6 League matches in 1927-28 as Millwall won the Third Division (South) Championship, and in the Second Division having 10 outings in 1928-29, the most he managed in his time with The Lions.
He transferred to Gillingham in May 1929 after 3 goals in 29 appearances for Millwall, and in contrast he was a regular performer during his five seasons at Priestfield, and an ever present in their 1931-32 campaign. He scored 4 goals in 178 appearances for Gillingham before joining Southern League club Tunbridge Wells Rangers in 1934, subsequently joining Kent League club Canterbury Waverley in 1935 before his eventual retirement.
