Aberdeen born centre forward Jacky Connon played junior football for Richmond before joining hometown Scottish League club Aberdeen in July 1919, after having scored 5 goals in seven wartime fixtures for The Dons in the spring of 1919. He became a regular in their 1919-20 team, scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances during the campaign, although he lost his regular place in their first team in 1921, remaining as a fringe player at Pittodrie for a further three seasons until he left to join Forfar Athletic in October 1924 having scored 25 goals in 106 appearances for Aberdeen. He remained at Station Park until the end of April 1927, when he finished his senior football career having been released by Forfar.
