Description
Scottish winger George Couper joined Heart of Midlothian in 1905 and made his Hearts debut at St Bernard’s in May 1905. He scored 8 times in 32 appearances for The Jambos through to March 1907 whereupon he joined First Division Everton, making his Football League debut at Blackburn Rovers on 8th April in a 2-1 defeat and scoring his only Everton goal 5 days later in a 5-2 defeat at Derby County. However he only made 3 appearances in April 1907 for The Toffees and one appearance in a 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the Derby at Anfield exactly a year later, before leaving the club and retiring from professional football (possibly through injury).
