Broxburn, Lothian born left half Terrance Coyle began his football career with Broxburn Athletic in 1919 and joined Scottish League Broxburn United in 1921. From there he joined Heart of Midlothian in May 1922, making his competitive debut for The Jambos in a 1-1 draw at Clyde that August. He made 19 appearances for The Jambos during 1922-23 before moving on to St Johnstone in 1923. He also had spells back with Broxburn United in 1924 and with East Fife in 1925, in addition he spent time on the books of Hearts during 1925-26 without making a further first team appearance.
In late 1925 he joined Third Division (South) Crystal Palace, where he played at centre half, making his Football League debut against Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic that December. He scored twice in 28 appearances during the remainder of 1925-26, but featured only 5 more times in 1926-27 before being released at the end of the season, whereupon he joined non league Stafford Rangers. He moved to Bromsgrove Rangers in 1928 before finishing his career with Cookley St Peter’s, whom he joined in 1929.
