Description

Birmingham born winger Jack Crisp had been on Leicester’s books before signing for West Bromwich Albion for whom he made his debut at Everton in December 1914 as an 18 year old, maintaining his place in the team for the rest of the season. On resumption of peacetime football he was still at West Brom and played 38 league games as Albion won the League Championship. In March 1923 Blackburn Rovers signed him after 23 goals in 123 games for Albion, and he scored on his Blackburn debut against Newcastle United. He played 5 seasons at Ewood Park scoring 19 goals in 108 games before a move back to The Midlands with Coventry City in February 1927, which would see 3 goals in 22 appearances. He then played non league football in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s for the likes of Stourbridge, Bromsgrove Rovers and Cheltenham Town.
