Newcastle-upon-Tyne born inside left Tom Curry began his football career with Clarence Wesleyans from where he was signed by Second Division club Barnsley in January 1920, with whom he made a single Football League appearance in the second half of their 1919-20 campaign before a return to north-east football with Nothern Alliance club Jarrow, joining Scotswood in August 1920.
After a period with Pandora Temperance he returned to Football League action with Third Division (South) club Aberdare Athletic in June 1923, but failed to establish himself, making just 4 first team appearances for the Cynon Valley club. Returning to the north east he was given a trial by Newcastle United in October 1925 and signed a contract to join them in April 1926.
Because Newcastle already had the more famous Tom Curry on their books, he was known as Curry No.2 in official ledgers! In April 1927 he featured in a friendly against Hull City and although in their League Championship winning 1926-27 squad, he never made a first team appearance for The Magpies in official competitions, leaving the club at the end of the 1927-28 campaign.
