Description
Born in Nottingham, A.L. Derrick was a full back who started his career with Sneinton before joining Midland League club Grantham in 1927. From there he joined Mansfield Town in the 1930 close season, but wasn’t still with them by the time they joined The Football League a year later.
NB there is a very strong physical resemblance to pre First World War Nottingham Forest player John Derrick, with the age difference also suggesting that they are quite likely to be father and son.
