Renton, Dunbartonshire born inside left Andy Duncan started his playing career at his local club Renton Thistle in 1929 before joining Dumbarton in 1929. In 1930 he was signed by Hull City where he made his Football League debut at Wrexham in March 1931 and scored 9 goals as they won the Third Division (North) Championship in 1932-33. He played 115 matches for The Tigers and found the net on 31 occasions over five seasons at Anlaby Road.
Duncan joined First Division club Tottenham Hotspur in March 1935, just before they were relegated that May, playing 6 top flight matches before the season end, and he went on to feature in 103 matches for Spurs, scoring 26 goals in all competitions for the White Hart Lane club. After leaving the Spurs in the summer of 1939, he ended his playing career at Chelmsford City.
