Description

Greenock, Renfrewshire born centre half Bill Eadie joined local junior club Greenock Overton in 1901 from where he joined hometown Scottish League club Morton a year later. He was signed by First Division club Manchester City in the summer of 1906, making his Football League debut at Sheffield Wednesday that September. Although City were relegated in 1909 when Eadie missed much of the season, he was part of the team which won immediate promotion back to the top flight as Second Division Champions in 1910.

He continued to play for the Hyde Road club until losing his place in November 1913 after scoring 6 goals in 204 appearances for The Citizens. In the summer of 1914 he moved to Derby County, and played 31 times as Derby won the 1914-15 Second Division Championship, but his career was ended by the suspension of peacetime football in May 1915 due to the onset of the First World War.
