Shildon, County Durham born right half Jack Forrest joined Second Division Clapton Orient in 1913 from hometown club Shildon Athletic making his Football League debut against Fulham that September and soon establishing himself as a regular in The O’s first eleven. After the War he returned to Lea Bridge Road, and made 36 appearances during their 1919-20 campaign, before losing his regular place in February 1921. He made 133 appearances for Orient, scoring 10 goals, in the four seasons either side of the War. He then moved to Third Division (South) club Northampton Town in the 1922 close season and played 3 times for The Cobblers late in 1922 before joining non league Spennymoor United in 1923.
