Description

Burnbank, Lanarkshire born centre half Tommy Frame played junior football for Burnbank Athletic in 1925 before joining Scottish League Cowdenbeath in 1926, at a time when they were at the strongest point in their history, playing in Division One until 1933-34. After an initial loan spell at Lochgelly United in 1926 he played 6 years for Cowdenbeath before joining Manchester United in 1932 making his Football League debut against Preston North End that October. But he struggled to get a place in the first team during his second season at Old Trafford, making his last appearance of 52 in March 1934, having scored 4 goals. He played for Southport in 1936-37 making 42 appearances for the Haig Avenue club, but joined non league Rhyl at the end of the season, moving to Bridgnorth Town in 1938.
