Description

Larkhall, Lanarkshire born goalkeeper Willie Frame played junior football for Larkhall Thistle in 1917 from where he joined Scottish League club Clyde, having a spell on loan at St Bernard’s in 1920 before joining Motherwell in 1924, for whom he made 183 appearances over the next six seasons. He had a trial at St Mirren before joining Dunfermline Athletic in 1930, from where he joined Third Division (North) Gateshead in 1931, making his Football League debut that December against Rotherham United and playing 6 times inside a month either side of New Year during which Gateshead only lost once. However he moved on, joining Irish club Bray Unknowns in the League of Ireland later in 1932 and subsequently moving to Linfield in 1934, before returning to Motherwell in 1937, where he finished his career.
