Govan, Glasgow born winger Hugh Galbraith played junior football for Glasgow East End in 1886, before joining Dundee Our Boys (soon to become Dundee) in 1887, from where he joined Football League club Accrington, making a single appearance against Bolton Wanderers in March 1889. He joined Bootle in the 1889 close season and joined Middlesbrough Ironopolis a year later, before returning to Lancashire to join Burnley, scoring twice in 5 games for The Clarets between December 1891 and April 1892. He then joined Southern League Luton Town and was still a Hatters player when they became a Football League club, with Galbraith scoring once in 6 appearances during their debut 1898-99 campaign. He finally joined Glossop in the close season of 1899 but never made their first team.
