Born at Dennistoun, Glasgow, little is known of the career of left half William Gardiner, who made his Scottish League debut for famous amateur club Queen’s Park in a Scottish First Division match against Partick Thistle in September 1921. He made 9 appearances before the end of October 1921 but never played for The Spiders’ first team again thereafter.
