Galston, Ayrshire born right winger Sam Graham began his football career with Galston in 1899 and played for Shankhouse in 1901 before joining First Division Newcastle United in May 1902, making his Football League debut at Wolverhampton Wanderers that November. He played only once more in his debut season and after a season in the reserves he made 4 further appearances in 1904-05 before joining Southern League club Norwich City in the 1905 close season.
In May 1906 he returned to Scotland to join Kilmarnock where he made just a single top flight appearance that month against St Mirren before re-joining Galston. He then joined Ayr in 1908 and had a spell on loan with Ayr Parkhouse in 1909 before again re-joining Galston in 1911, where he finished his career.
