Wing half Jim Hall began his football career with Bath City and signed for Second Division club Blackpool in 1936 and made his debut at left half at Fulham on Christmas Day 1936, playing at left half, remaining in the team until February as Blackpool won promotion to the top flight, finishing Second Division runners up. He returned to the team at right half in September 1937, playing 13 matches through to December and scored his only goal in a 1-1 home draw with Derby County. On the fringes in 1938-39, he played only 5 more matches and joined Fleetwood in the summer of 1939 after 28 appearsces for The Seasiders, and his carerr was effectively ended by the outbreak of the Second World War that September.
