Description

Poplar, London born centre half Jimmy Harrold began his football career with London junior club Custom House  in 1908 and spent 1911-12 on the books at Huddersfield Town where he didn’t make the first eleven before joining West Ham United in 1912, again without making their first team. Soon after he joined Second Division club Leicester Fosse, making his Football League debut against Grimsby Town in February 1913, immediately becoming a regular in the first team.

He played for Leicester both sides of the First World War, during which he served in both The Royal Navy and The Royal Air Force, scoring 7 times in 218 appearances before joining Third Division (South) club Millwall in the summer of 1923. However he only played the first 2 matches of the new season, both games against Norwich City, scoring in the second game which would prove his last as a professional footballer, and possibly due to injury he never played a first team match again. He later spent 1925-26 at Clapton Orient but failed to make their first eleven.
