Description

Lockerbie, Dumfrieshire born left half Jimmy Jamieson began his senior football career with First Division Everton in 1892, making his Football League debut at Newton Heath (now Manchester United) that October and making 14 appearances for The Toffees over the rest of the season. He joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 1893 and soon became a regular, in his first season at Olive Grove and he was part of their 1894 FA Cup semi final team that lost to Bolton Wanderers at Fallowfield, Manchester.

Jamieson missed one League match the following season but wasn’t selected in their FA Cup ties, when they again reached the semi final, and in 1895-96 he played in the first of their FA Cup semi final matches, a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers at Goodison Park, but missed their FA Cup Final triumph at The Crystal Palace, probably through injury. Jamieson continued to be a regular for The Owls until the end of the 1897-98 season, and only played 4 more times during their 1898-99 campaign, which ended in relegation, before leaving the club after 3 goals in 135 appearances.
