Description

Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire born inside forward Harry Keeling started playing junior football with Huthwaite CWS in 1922 and joined Sutton Town in 1923 before joining Mansfield Town in 1924. He spent the second part of the 1924-25 season on the books at Nottingham Forest but didn’t make their first eleven, before joining Grantham in 1925. He had successive seasons on the books of Luton Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Notts County between 1926 and 1929, but played for none of them at first team level, before joining Torquay United in July 1929, from whom he made his Football League debut at Watford in August 1929.

He scored 10 goals in 28 appearances for The Gulls over the next two seasons and then joined Swindon Town in June 1931, where he scored 7 goals in 24 appearances, but his stay at The County Ground was only one season before he joined Norwich City in May 1932. In East Anglia he again struggled for opportunities, scoring once in 5 matches, and he then re-joined now Third Division Mansfield Town in July 1933, where he made 8 more appearances in the Football League before leaving the senior ranks. He joined Bath City in 1934, and subsequently played for Hereford United in 1937, Tamworth in 1938, and Brierley Hill Alliance later the same year.
