Description

Wandsworth, London born inside forward Harry Lees started his senior career with Ebbw Vale in 1921, before moving to Second Division Wolverhampton Wanderers, for whom he made his Football League debut at Bradford City in February 1923. After just 3 appearances in his debut season, during which Wolves were relegated to the Third Division, he was an automatic inclusion once the 1923-24 season began, missing only two games and top scoring with 22 goals in the campaign as Wolves won the Third Division (North) Championship at the first time of asking, Lees grabbing hat-tricks at Molineux against New Brighton and Wrexham.

Although his rate of scoring dropped off at the higher level, he continued to play for Wolves until he joined Darlington in October 1927 after 43 goals in 129 appearances. His two seasons at Feethams saw 24 goals in 60 appearances before he returned to The Midlands to join non league Shrewsbury Town in 1929. He subsequently played for Stourbridge in 1930 and Leamington Town in 1931 before retirement.
